How can I change a Microsoft office document into a Microsoft works document?

I got an e-mail with an attachment that is from microsoft office, and I only have microsoft works. Can someone please help??? Please:)

The files are not compatable and won't open in Works.
Try to open the file with Notepad or Wordpad or any other word processor you may have.
