i had java on my computer(update 10) and was playing pogo and pogo kept freezing up. a friend of mine went to test java virtual machine and found out that the java i had was corrupted which it looked fine to me and did something and it was working fine..Than my daughter downloaded the newer version of java(update 11 ) and now it is freezing up again. i would ask my friend but i do not think that there are phones in heaven..i really need help on what to do. serious answers only please..i tried to restore the computer but it will not let me..i need help with java please

I was wondering if anyone knew of any OS that were a free alternative for XP, the reason why I ask is I'm getting sick of XP... I would like something new and I would like to expand my knowledge with another OS... Although I would like something that is easy to install the reason why I say that is because I tried UBUNTU and came up with a badchecksum someone told me that it was because of the battery in my computer however I don't see how a battery can cause it since I figured it was a code issue since I've never seen an error before...

But if anyone can give me any advice on what is the easiest thing to switch to, to be a perminate OS as I would like to run off of something else aside XP or windows for that matter....

I just went to ebay and they have xp office programs very reasonable. which one do I buy (for my spouse) (I don't know one program from another) that will make this xp legal and have the ability to upgrade and etc. etc.
I want word, exel, etc. as I do a lot of work on my computer.

I know you perform one by pressing F5 during setup... but I cant, for the life of me, work out what a HAL selection actually is as all the answers I find through Gooooogle explain this thing at far too high a level!!

Ok, my computer has been running like crap. So bad that my mothers dial up is faster than my DSL. So I'm poking around and I've found on my C drive, dozens of hidden T files and .exe files...that were NEVER on it before. Actually, some aren't even hidden. For example, here are a couple things I found.. aaaaafjw.t, beiUVOm.exe....dozens of them! What are they and are THEY the problem? They were all created on one of two dates. Anybody know what these files are?
