I am using Registry Mechanic 6.0.Lately, it has not repaired all the errors. For example, I will scan. It finds 3 errors. I delete them and then run the scan again. It finds the exact 3 errors again. After running this 3 times, I am wondering if I need to change registry cleaners or just go without. Is it absolutely necessary to have a registry cleaner if I'm using Windows XP sp2 and do the maintenance on a routine basis?

I understand that some versions of Windows (NT, SBS, 2003 ?) have permissions "access lists" (not sure if that is the right term?)

Basically a file can be readable / writable by a number of users or groups of users.

Is this correct? and can someone point me to a technical article on how this works - ie. where this info is held?

I want to make a power point presentation and do not know much about software. I do not have powerpoint on my windows xp. I am at my brothers and noticed he has Microsoft Office xp professional it says version 2002 and has 2 cd's in it and tehn he has another case that says Microsoft Office Publisher 2003. Will any of the 2 work to download powerpoint on my computer? What is the difference even if they wont work I am curious? Thank you!

I'm playing music on my windows media player, however I'm a little bit simple in the head......duh?!? Is it possible, if you have several tracks from one artists to put them in a group so that you only have the artist name once on the screen and can see all the track by clicking on the single artist name?

When sending a Word 2007 document, is it incompatible to older versions of Word? I just sent an attachment from word 2007 and it wouldn't allow me to open it with older versions of word nor the current version as well.

I've installed Open Office and couldn't open it. It said we need X11? Does that refer to a newer version of Apple or another application? At the website, it said it's listed under Utilities in Applications, but it's not there. Do you have to buy it or install it for free? This is for Panther for OS X.4. Do you know how much?

Is it better to go with Fedora and Red Hat, or could I just go to Distrowatch and download w/e knock off version they have and do the same thing? (Keep in mind that I'm a n00b at the whole Linux thing.) The Idea of buying Fedora Core 6 or one of the Red Hat Versions is kind of not what I want to do, but if I have to do that to get the better product, I will.

I want to sublease my apartment and make fliers. In microsoft word, how do you make 'strips' on bottom of the flier to list your name and number. i've seen them done, they're vertical and about 15 'strips' at the footer. I do not want to write them out. how is this done?

I have to enter inventory numbers onto a spread sheet. The first eight characters are the same (MR.2004.)

How can i get this to show up in each column without retyping it, and so that i can add additional numbers to the end i.e. MR.2004.13, MR.2004.26, etc.
