I would stick with XP for the time. Microsoft Vista is new and they haven't had a chance to work out all the bugs yet. Give it a little time and they should be able to fix it. But for now, I'd stick with XP, just in case.

I'd wait a while. My mom just got a new computer with Vista Premium. While it seems to be an OK program from what I can tell (I have XP), there are some program compatibility issues. We bought her a photo program that will not work on Vista and I haven't been able to come up with a solution yet (didn't work on it long, though). It is a huge program with a lot of bells and whistles and the minimum recommended ram is 512mb. So, if you are upgrading, do some checking on compatibility. Good luck.

Topaz ... I agree with the people you've already talked to. Unless there's absolutely some feature that you must have, I'd avoid it. The newest technology is not always the best technology.

As others suggested, wait for the bug fixes to be tested and released. But even at that point, I must say again — If you cannot name a feature that you absolutely need, it's not worth the money and the effort to change. Notice I said "change" and not "upgrade"; some of the reviews I've read from IT editors are hesitant to consider Vista as an improvement that's worth all the effort and costs.

Good luck, Topaz.

Stick with XP...Vista is the new "Windows ME". Wait about a year or so for the first service pack to fix the bugs...

Vista was rushed due to so many resources being spent on XP SP2. It is not a good OS.

you should get it but dont install it yet!

This is because there could be loads of errors and microsoft may have to upgrade!

So get it but dont install it for like a few months say till september.

In that time they would have improved it enough!

Because nothing is perfect as soon as it comes out there are always errors and will need to be fixed!

Why do you think Win XP has SP1 and SP2?

Because it wasnt perfect when it came out!

THats why I'd wait till other people have found errors and Microsoft has fixed them errors!

Yes you should buy it now because it is cheap otherwise it would cost a fortune!

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Make sure you get a full license for it because CRACKS or any other license cracking program will cause your whole PC to crash and you wil not be able to revert to the last restore point!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
Hope it helps!

Sure go ahead and try the latest flavor of Microsoft crack.
When you get tired of not being able to do anything with it then you can confront your Windows addiction and try Linux or Mac.
Personally I think everyone should try Vista just so they can see for them selves how really bad it is, just don't pay any more that $10 for it.

Whatever you do dont get basic. The other ones are way better. But I do agree with waiting til they iron out the bugs. Good Luck.

I think it takes a little getting used to, but it is supposed to be the new thing and if you can get it for ten bucks then why not?

To be honest with you... I wouldn't buy it unless I bought a computer that it was already on. Personally, I was happy with good ol windows 95. I think that every time they upgrade they put more stuff on it to slow down your computer. I use windows ME at home and at work.
