i am running Windows XP.

i want to be able to have my computer turn on at 6 AM Every Workday.

i have been in bios of my computer, but i dont wanna touch anything unless i know what im doing.

hello,
i have many movies in avi format and some small clips in wmv format which i would like to convert to dvd format.

can anyone please comment on what is a really good converter i can get for free? thanks a bunch

Also, can you guys also tell me what are the best dvd formats that are supported by nero and or nero express?

I have a brand-new computer with Windows XP media center edition installed. I just bought it before Vista was launched, so I am entitled to get Vista for free. I have placed the order but Vista will only arrive in April. My question is, should I install all my programs (photoshop, dreamweaver, flash, firefox, etc) and hardware (modem, printer) before Vista arrives? Will there be compatibility problems? I am most worried that if I install these now, and later install Vista OS, I will get annoying error pop-up messages that I don't know how to get rid of.

My computer was acting up and going very slow. I was having difficulty removing some of the many downloaded programs on my computer through the control panel, so I just restored my computer to a month ago. After the restore, my screen was completely blank, save for my wall paper, and the only thing that seems to work is the task manager. I've tried starting my computer with the last good configuration and other modes, but nothing seems to work. I can access the internet by using task manager, but that's the only thing that seems to work. Any suggestions?

How do you make an entry in Outlook Calendar and NOT include a reminder (even if a default reminder setting is established in preferences). I've done this before by pressing CNRL or some key while entering the entry.

Recently i have taken some pictures with my friends digital camera, i uploaded them to my computer, deleted them off the camera and returned the camera to my friend. when i looked at the pictures, they are fuzzy and not quite in focus, as if i did not take them correctly. is there a program which will sharpen/refocus these pictures for me?

I need to make a cost/profit+loss spreadsheet. The math part I have down. But i would like to make the sheet so that if I enter a row and if in the serial number column I enter a duplicate serial number (work done twice) that it combines the two rows and just deletes the duplicate. Meaning that if serial #3565 had $100 done one day, and $225 another that it takes the two rows, combines them and shows just one row with $325 worth of work. How do I do this? thanks for the help. Even if its a bit complicated in functions I'd like to know how just cause it would make it a lot easier.

my start bar can only show the quick launch buttons and the language bar. no matter what programs i use, firefox, MSN, or task manager, there's no other buttons indicating that the program is in use.

Basically...it's as though you started the computer with no programs, and stays there.

The problem started last night, and I thought a reboot would make it go away.

Please help.
