i have window player 10. i have gotten several songs in an email and when i download them, the windows player says that the codec is not the right kind to play on the player. i dont know how to fix this. several songs do this and some dont. how can i fix this?

everytime I click on Internet Explorer from my desktop it takes a long time to open up and when it does open I have to wait for the homepage to load 100% before it lets me scroll. It even freezes the browser when I attempt to close it. Could it be Windows Vista or Internet Explorer problems. I have three other computers on the same router and its not the connection because the rest of the Pc's work and load perfectly. Except for the one with Windows Vista. What could it be? Im starting to dislike Windows Vista :(

I recently purchased the Adobe Creative Suite 2.3 Premium Education version from school. It cost me less than $200. I looked online and the original version from Adobe costs about $1200. What is the difference between the two? Does the original version have more features? Does the education expire after certain years or after you graduate from school?

Recently, my computer has been slow and kept freezing,and the only thing I could physicaly do was go to system restore,so I did that and everything else on my computer works fine but I have no sound all that comes up is like a system beep.In control panel its not even showing volumes or anything like its not even detecting a sound device. what do i do??please give me step by step cause all the other answers to similar questions confused me. please & thankss.

We have a brand new computer with Windows Vista Home Basic. I know that with Vista just being released, there will be service packs and resolutions for problems that arise, but it is running very slowly. I have removed all of the extra software that comes preloaded, so it's has to be windows related. When I switch between users on the computer, it takes forever to load the screen once I have switched to the other users profile. Just in general, it is running slowly. Any suggestions?

I have got an eMachines E4036 desktop PC, which came with media center 2005 installed. I have since upgraded to crappy Vista, and need to go back. I have lost the green and white recovery CD that came with it. Where can I get a new one?

I used the system restore function three days ago. Now, I cannot use the function again. My CPU usage is almost constantly at 100% which makes my computer irratatingly slow.

When I try to system restore, I select one of the highlighted dates and it goes through the process of shutting down etc but then when it restarts it say that it was unable to restore to that date.

I have tried nearly all the dates available.

The only thing that I think it may be is that I used Windows Updates and this seems to have caused it.

I have no idea what to do know, I have tried virus scans, etc, so any help extremely appreciated!

I had several good answers recently and tried some of them. I had already used Spyware and Adaware and tried to scan my hard drives and defrag. I am stopped from scanning C because it says something in Windows is running, and it won't defrag either. I downloaded Avast, and that worked great in that it found 2 Trojan Horses and 2 Worms. But I still can't download ErrorDoctor or upgrade Internet Explorer, and now every few minutes a Window box pops up saying the program has performed illegally. It has HPOSM in the top left corner of the box, but when I click OK on it, it doesn't shut me down like the usual illegal message box does. What is causing that, and why can't I download anything else, as the computer is still very, very slow. I also have a web page, and was told by my server that I should be using Internet Explorer 6. Since I haven't upgraded since 2003, I'm sure I don't have it. HELP!!

I was in the middle of uploading IE7 when my computer went into hibernation because the electrical plug wasn't completely connected. It had already removed IE6, so I had no browser at all. I used another computer to download the program to a disk and now I need to install it.
