i have window player 10. i have gotten several songs in an email and when i download them, the windows player says that the codec is not the right kind to play on the player. i dont know how to fix this. several songs do this and some dont. how can i fix this?

you could try upgrading to windows media player 11 from the official microsoft website.
or you could download windows media player 10 and run install and it will overwrite the software files already installed. but if something was deleted by a virus or system error it could replace the missing file :P

Listen to the person who said to download the K-Lite Codec pack. Whatever codec you need will most likely be in there.

Easy. Install this great codec pack. WMP will then play practically anything. Get pack 3.1.1.1 at the top of the list.

go to google and look for K-LITE codec pack and download the full pack, its free, then install and you should be able to play all formats
