I recently purchased the Adobe Creative Suite 2.3 Premium Education version from school. It cost me less than $200. I looked online and the original version from Adobe costs about $1200. What is the difference between the two? Does the original version have more features? Does the education expire after certain years or after you graduate from school?

Educational versions are not to be used for commercial purposes.
What it simply means is that as a student are not supposed to go and make money using the version you purchased.
Other than that, there are no differences.
Back when they actually gave you manuals with your software, the EDU version didn't get them, nor all the fancy packaging.
