AVG, http://free.grisoft.com/
Avast, http://www.avast.com/
Active Virus Shield, http://www.activevirusshield.com/antivirus/freeav/index.adp?
AOL SSC, http://daol.aol.com/safetycenter/
Anti-Vir, http://www.free-av.com/

That being said, you might see if your ISP has a special deal on a paid version of antivirus (Comcast offers McAfee for free to all subscribers of their high speed service), see if yours offers something similar.

Note, a lot of the free stuff does not yet run under Vista, McAfee and Norton have Vista versions ready (which is the main reason I am using it).

Pojoman, Spybot is not antivirus software.

I have Spybot S&D (Search and Destroy)...It's Completly free and it can check your computer for viruses, immunize your computer for current virus thingies, and some other stuff I think (although it's good, I don't use it much)
