that is very easy to do. Right click Deskop area, select Properties, select 2nd tab, then on the bottm, select Customize, inside it, you'll see 4 boxes of My Computer, My network, IE, My Document. Check mark the one you want, OK to save and exit. Voila. You're done

on the desktop:
1) right-click anywhere on the screen
2) click properties
3) click the desktop tab
4) click customize desktop
5) check mark "my computer" or any other icons you want to be on the desktop
6) click ok
7) click ok again to get out of the properties window

Are you running Windows XP? If so, minimize everything until your desktop shows. Click Start, then click and HOLD the My Computer icon. Drag and release it onto your desktop.

Are you using windows XP?
if so then Right Click on your Start menu.
Click on Properties.
Click Classic Start Menu.
then hit apply.
if your 'my computer' is not back on your desktop then please do the following...
Right Click on the Desktop
Click on Properties.
Click on the Desktop 'tab'.
Hit Customize Desktop...
Then make sure the Check Box next to 'My computer' is selected, and if not then select it.
Ok, Apply, and it should be back

click on start
look on the right side of the main start menu you will see my computer
now there are two options
option A
click and hold the my computer and drag it to the desktop
Option B
right click the the my computer and look at the options
one of them will be send to desktop or show on desktop.

go to your task bar and right click...
go to properties...
click advanced tab...
look for my computer and click display as link...
will now be back in your start menu...
right click it and drag to your desktop and then copy or create short cut... (will most likely only let you shortcut it...) good luck...
