Recently i have taken some pictures with my friends digital camera, i uploaded them to my computer, deleted them off the camera and returned the camera to my friend. when i looked at the pictures, they are fuzzy and not quite in focus, as if i did not take them correctly. is there a program which will sharpen/refocus these pictures for me?

No, because the way it focues is an optical thing (How far apart the lenses) and so one the picture is already stored in a digital format there is no way to get that back (Even if you had the camera) You can /try/ a photo editor to make it look slightly more natuaral, but it will never be even close to focused.

My suggestion: Most cameras have a bi-level button, so you can press it a little bit and it will focus on your subject and acutally take the time to make it almost perfect, and when the green light comes on or something changes then press it all the way and it will tke the snapshot. If you jsut press the button quickly the camera doesn't have time to think and jsut guesses how it should be focused, jsut for future refrence.

No...

and yes u can try some photo-editing software like adobe...

I guess you need to borrow ur friends digital camera again so you could fix those fuzzy shoots of yours. Or try some good and hi-end camera's w/c offers the best results and captures best and perfect moment. Maybe ur friends camera has a problem checks the correct setting of the camera.

That's only a suggestion pal.

In short, no. If you mess up the focus when taking the picture, there is no way to get back the details that the improper focus caused you to lose...I take it back, be in a spy movie and they can do it for you ;)
