automatic updates?

set it to automatic, the next day it is on off, set it again to automatic, check next day, off again, why? can you trouble shoot this? or an answer?

This depends on alot:

Anti-virus things may screw with it, check their settings.

Also, make sure you are hitting the 'Ok' button, and not the big X in the upper right hand corner
