I use napster, which is just a 9.95 or 14.95 subscription for unlimited downloads a month, but theres also rhapsody and urge, and a couple others, these 3 are 100% legal but have sub fees to them for unlimited use.

allright after listening to the other answers on here I was surprised not one of the other 4 mentioned a single legal service, is it that easy for people to steal other peoples hard work without giving them any recognition or compensation for what they worked so hard for? and also the consequences if you are caught, they will sue you for waaay more than the actual CD's cost. http://www.riaalawsuit.com/news/Index.cfm?CurrentPage=1

Well, theres another type of program, thats like Limewire, but you mostly get full almbums instead of singles. You can find the singles, but its more difficult. Its Bittorent. You download the bittorent program, then you go to sites like....www.isohunt.com and search for something you want, then you download the torrent and load it into bittorent. Then, it downloads it and saves it to the folder you specify. Its safer then Limewire or Bearshare.

with any download site there's always a risk of downloading a virus...
it's good practice to keep your antivirus program updated on a regular basis
and always scan all the files you download with your antivirus program before you open/play the file(s)
