My new computer comes with bluetooth. What all does that do?

I just ordered a new computer, and it comes with bluetooth. I don't know much about it--I'm under the impression that it will allow me to transmit data from my cell phone to my computer and vice versa, but is that all it's used for?

the bluetooth technology can send information wireless to other item that have the blue tooth builted into them
