Software - February 2007

Machine has suddenly started receiving Office 2003 updates, which it is not accepting, and the XP updates have stopped.
How do I revert to getting XP updates?
I have Windows Live OneCare installed.
Could this be part of the problem?

ok so i usually get a blue screen stating that i have a problem (kernel data_inpage _error or the kernal_stack_inpage_error)
i recently formated and reinstalled the OS prior to the reinstallation it was running fine
so my question is

Will a format and clean sweep install fix this Annoying Blue screen

im off to bed right now hopefully in the morn ill have some reasonable answers

PS ive used the registry fix program it fixed most but 3 probs and even when it says that it fixed the prob their still there the next time i run the registryFix

Im new to this torrent thing..can anyone tell me what "Seeders" and "Leechers" mean?
What do you mean by "to plant your seed"...and what should you do once a torrent has finished downloading?...ive heard something like.."...you should plant your seed as soon as you finish downloading.."..any idea?
And how can you increase your download speed...sometimes..my downloads are stuck at 95%/98%, why does this happen...?

I've got plenty of svchost.exe, at about 5 or 6 of these whenever i look at the processes tab in the task manager of my pc. And as I have observed, these executables has slowed the speed of my computer! i don't know what to do about this. i don't even know if it's a virus or not! I am currently building my own computer from scratch and I have all the components except for the operating system. I want to install Windows Vista Home Premium, but every site I go to is selling Windows Vista Home Premium Upgrade. When I see the word upgrade it makes me think it wont install on my new PC that currently has no operating system. My question is, do I need to buy a special version of Windows Vista, or do I need to buy a previous windows operating system and then buy VIsta, or can I just buy Windows Vista Home Premium upgrade and have it work on my self built PC?

I am currently using Mavis Beacon and I find it helpful. However, there may be other software there that might be better or more effective in teaching typing techniques. Is there also a free typing software (a free download from some website)? These tools can be pricey sometimes.
