For the last few days my computer has been pretty slow and everytime click on something that make a popup page come up....like to click on a link in an email, or to click on something like print my cupon on blockbuster.com when the popup comes up it freezes up my PC. I have run my antivirus and 3 spyware programs and the problem persists. Also, somehow a while back my way search assistant downloaded on my computer and when I go to add/remove programs, and try to remove it....it will not remove! Help please....Thanks!

security center in control panel sayes been disabled problem accured after downloading ie7 on my computer administrative tools service shows not running error 123 don't know how to fix.

There is a virus on my brother's computer, I couldn't get rid of it, nor could the virus scanner. He has yet to do a full system restore to fix it. But his internet has been running slow and I think he had some problems with his TV and phone. When Comcast came over they said he had a virus that is eating his computer which is slowing down the internet, I believe that, and that its eating the TV and phone. That doesn't seem right. I know a lot about computers and somewhat about viruses, but this is new. Is this possible? They charged him $50 as the problem is not with their equipment but with his computer. Again, I know it can be the cause of his internet and computer slowdowns, and the "insert cd" message when his computer is started, but the TV and phone? Thanks - JOE

can anybody reccomend to me a really good software to eliminate viruses. mine reccenlty expired, idk.
basically, my computer is also really slow, im thinking maybe cos i have a virus. anything i can do about this?

I was a pop up and ever since then when I press the explorer it comes up instead of yahoo, which is suppose to be my home page. I went to yahoo to set it as my home page again and it didn't work it still came up security center. I went to it's page and try to find a way to take it off or find a way to email a person a the page but I couldn't find anything like that. Now it's causing other problems for my computer, like random pop-ups that my computer wouldn't normally have. Pop-ups that after I close them come right back up. It also has inappropriate ads popping up.

I have just bought a new computer off a friend and on it there is AVG anti spyware, Zone alarm firewall (which says it can not detect any anti virus, which there is) and AVG anti-virus. I am on NTL broadband and I can get all three in one for free off NTL. Which do you think I should do. Keep what I have got (they are all free) or uninstall them and download NTL's Netgard??

my bro change my password (when i just took a few seconds to get myself a drink) set my account as a limited, his as an administrator, and two other administrators.. i tried to reset the password through safemode but still it requires me a password?

I have systemantic antivirus and after running a scan it found two worm viruses. I wouldnt quarantine or delete these and I need them removed by my computer. Any ideas on anything I can do to delete them, any free software that can do this? I'd really appreciate it. Thanks.

AVG Seems to be faster and find more viruses but I want yall's opinion. McAffee just seems to be too much trouble. I like AVG Free Edition.

one of the programs on my computer indicated that i had an unsuccessful attempt to access my computer through a port etc. when i had the ip address traced it was as far away as japan, china, australia. what does this mean? someone is hacking into my computer from overseas?

I downloaded a few songs from some artists pages and i think i have a computer virus now!! (yahoo messenger doesn't work, computer runs slow, links won't work, suddenly i can't open any programs..... like microsoft word, paint, ect.) At first, i thought it was just because i spend a lot of time on the computer. But I really think i have a virus. Usually I wouldn't download a single thing!! But i thought i could trust myspace :(

Also I was wondering..... if you do get a virus does it corrupt all your files such as other music you had, images, documents, programs, ect? My grandfather (who built my computer) Didn't put a virus protection software into it (when i went to check ...... all i had was firewall and something else and it said virus protection software not detected)

My stepdad has norton anti-virus on his computer but he can't get in touch with the friend who put it in there. So ... i dont know where to get a the software.Any advice, tips, or similar stories? Thanks :D

Adelphia made me un-install Norton Anti-virus when I got a virus. They disconnected my account without telling me. When I finally called they said because of the virus I had gotten, that I had to use their free anti-virus called Freedom. After several months, I got a virus that Freedom said it couldn't removed. After working my way up the chain in tech support, the man told me to re-start my computer for like the 100th time. This time, when I turned it off, it never came on again. Actually, it came on, but only to a black screen you can't type on. They said if I couldn't get my computer to come back up, they couldn't help me. Don't they have some responsibility here since they made me un-install my Norton anti-virus and switch to Freedom as a condition of continuing my internet account? Thanks for taking the time to read all this. It's really been bothering me!

Last nite i got A FAKE BUT DANGERS PROTECTION BAR BUT ON MY I E 7 TOOL BAR WITH A LOT OF FAKE VIRUS off OF MYSPACE from a so called adult content profile viewer lol but when i got smart to it it just took over it is on my desk top my Norton has run all nite with no luck but this thing is from AVG and is trying to sell me all this **** I'm off line with it now i have a long string of protection stuff in my IE 7 browser and my yahoo Norton did pick up any thing my yahoo Norton pop up did pick up a TROJAN E VIRUS @ 938 this morning but my Norton 2006 that ran all nite off line never hit on any thing just wondering if i need to delete I E 7 and start over i really don't think the virus is real it is a cheap trick from AVG witch i don't run as i have run the TROJAN E THRO the Norton 2006 and it never hit on it ether but i do need to remove the DANGURES PROTECTION BAR from my browser please reply to moboy18_98@yahoo.com thanks
