Yesterday my work computer got the trojan virus. I don't know alot about computer viruses (after this I will be sure to study all of them!!!) and I just want to know that one, if I turn my computer completely off (so they cannot access my work information) and don't turn it on, will it be okay until we get the program to get rid of the virus, and two, if I access my email from another computer, can they access information that way also??? Please help!! I'm completely dumb when it comes to this stuff!

We've lost alot of security rights on our files servers running Windows Server 2003 SP1. When looking at the security tab (under Properties), the list is empty...

We're suspecting a virus, HW malfunction or hacking... (I know, this is very broad).

Any ideas on what caused this and how to avoid it in the future?

Please help me. This is doing my head in! I have McAfee security on my computer and somehow I have still managed to get myself a virus. I'm not too sure when I picked the thing up but now every time I switch the modem on, the computer at somepoint will access the internet on it's own, bring up a web page and then on the bottom taskbar bring up an icon telling me I have a virus. I've been trying to delete things myself to get rid of this thing but to no avail. Even if I run a virus check on the computer or the new applications that the computer then saves in the settings folder it doesn't recognise that there is a virus. I'm at a wits end and just want to get to the home of this mother and delete what ever it is that is mucking my computer up!!! Can anyone tell me how I can get this sorted??? Many thanks for your help in advance......... Sam.

I purchased a Norton Internet Security download, on August 10, this year, but the installation failed (although they kept my money.) Symantec Customer Service promised to refund my money in two billing cycles, but they have not done so, and emails to them are being returned. How do I get back my money which has accrued interest for the past two months and keeps accruing? HELP
