Zone Alarm Pro(free) spybot search and destroy, Avast, Ad-Aware Se and AVG Free Edition.....I use all to protect and scan and am happy and virus clean. If you wish to contact me direct I can send you to a site that gives Zone Alarm Pro free download. I use some for complet protection and others just to scan for problems.

It is important to have a complete security system. most people only run anti virus with out a firewall and without spy ware removal programs. Often the spy ware removal features of anti virus programs are weak and very limited

I would say get the paid version of zone alarm firewall pro
you can try before you buy:
http://www.zonelabs.com/store/content/company/products/trial_zaFamily/trial_zaFamily.jsp?lid=home_freedownloads

as well as running "avg free"
http://free.grisoft.com/doc/avg-anti-virus-free/lng/us/tpl/v5
and ad-aware
http://www.download.com/3000-2144-10045910.html

you will be set.

Do not get the new norton- it will slow down your computer

there is one conflict however, you must lock your host file (very easy to do in zone alarm) and it is a good idea to do that anyway.
email me and I will tell you how if you go with zone alarm.
