I downloaded a few songs from some artists pages and i think i have a computer virus now!! (yahoo messenger doesn't work, computer runs slow, links won't work, suddenly i can't open any programs..... like microsoft word, paint, ect.) At first, i thought it was just because i spend a lot of time on the computer. But I really think i have a virus. Usually I wouldn't download a single thing!! But i thought i could trust myspace :(
Also I was wondering..... if you do get a virus does it corrupt all your files such as other music you had, images, documents, programs, ect? My grandfather (who built my computer) Didn't put a virus protection software into it (when i went to check ...... all i had was firewall and something else and it said virus protection software not detected)
My stepdad has norton anti-virus on his computer but he can't get in touch with the friend who put it in there. So ... i dont know where to get a the software.Any advice, tips, or similar stories? Thanks :D

I also use McAfee, Also we use ClamWin Antiviris.
And you don't have to buy them from a computer store just go to their website and download them you can trust them not to put anything bad on your computer!
Everyone I know has them!
After I downloaded lots of stuff from myspace I had the same problems and then after a little while maby a few days our computer crashed and we had to reboot our computer so we lost all of our things.
Since we put those two programs on our computer we haven't had a problem and I can still download music without getting any virus's!

MySpace doesn't infect you with Malware. Individual sites of scumbags infect your computer. You need to report this site to MySpace so they can remove it.
It doesn't sound as if you have an Anti-Virus or Anti-Spyware program on your computer. If that is true then go here and run a free on-line scan and removal. Write down the name(exactly as listed) that cannot be removed.

For any infection that was not removed, go here and post a thread. List the names of the infection(s) remaining on your computer. This site was recently cleaned up by Yahoo and is now back to being a very good site for receiving help with Virus and Spyware infections. i use McAfee and i like it a lot. You can get it at any computer store. You can do virus scans to see if you have a virus on your computer. Nowadays, it is definitely best to have virus protection on your computer. Some of those songs are likely to have spyware on them.

Yes virus are nothing but codes and what do you put on my space codes,I got a invite from a lady thought she wanted me to be a friend (NOT) it was a sex bot and when i clicked the page of her profile bam 7 virus took over my PC virus burts,pest trap and win32 had to wipe out my system to get this gone OK out my defaults,sound and automatic updates.So yes you can get this it is free and works great AVG

yeah myspace can let you have a virus so dont go on too much!
i got a virus by doawnloading to much things.
dont do that try getting norton anitvirus and spyware protection it help you can get that at best buy it might be expensive but its for the best.

I think you should run a virus scan immediately. I can give a few links that offer free virus and spyware removers...! AVG , Avast are free antivirus software. Ad-aware, Ewido are free spyware removers. You can download free softwares at

good news and bad news good news is it dosent soung like a virus , BAd news is it may be a worm or trojan to get rid of these you wont need virus protection but you will need other programs like spybot you may want to buy VP any way for later though

If your page starts acting funny just change your password. Hackers are everywhere! It'll work. Anyway, here are a few of my friends. Pretty cool pages I think.
