Also what's a safe range to oc an e6400.By safe range i mean to prevent overheating,damaging components and other probs. So how to oc a processor and is 2.6-2.9ghz range to oc safe?

i plan on watercooling my computer and i wanted to know if I was supposed to use the thermal paste on my computer's other components like my gpu or northbridge.
And if its not necessary would it be safe and improve conditions if I did use it?

I would also like to know what thermal paste is the best.

i replace the power supply to my pavilion and by accident i unplug the wires that run to the start up button the problem is that they don't have any numbers to tell me where they go there's a Green, yellow, red, and a black one on each color
and were they go there's 10 pins on one side and 9 on the other but the one that's missing in the 4Th one on the end side.
can someone tell which one goes where

i am going to be buying a new PC
i has to be a table top, not a lap top
i need it for home work, for an on line course i will be taking shortly
i need it for recording DVDs and burning them
i need lots of storage-music pictures movies
i need to play video games, so good graphics
i need it for long hours as i live on it
so if anyone who is good at putting PCs together please help, and i will pic the best one when i buy a new pc, also it should be about $1300.00-1500 CDN$

I got a 177 GB Hard Drive on my desktop and a 61.9 GB on my Laptop . I am thinking of installing Vista Home Premium on my laptop and desk top. What is the max hard drive space needed for either ? and would I need to spend money on getting a bigger hard drive ?. And if I do purchase this, how easy is it to partition the hard drives for the laptop and desktop to make those emergency recovery settings?

My computer has 1gb ram 3.4 ghz. I want to get a new video card because I have to run low settings for alot of games. I dont want to spend alot but I rather spend alot and have it last than spend 200 and have to upgrade in a year. I definitly want an ATI. What card would be a good solution

Hi, I asked a question about disk drives (types) and was given the answer about an ls-120 drive. Yes, this is what these disks were - I remember now!!! Thank you for the information. Howerver, I still need to be able to access these old disks to retrieve important information contained on these. Any ideas as to what type of a drive I need for this or where can one be found? If I search like e-bay what do I specify as to the drive I am looking for?

Does anyone know if it's possible to adjust the settings in Windows XP to allow you to use a joypad as if it was a mouse?

I have this new hard disk. It is 60gb I have set the jumpers (set the 60 to secondary slave) and the 20gb (my old one) to primary master.

The problem is. After I setup the hard disk.

In the startup screen the 60gb hard disk is not detected. It would just say

[Press F4 to skip] then i don't know what is happening then.

I have some floppy disks, look like they are those 'zip' disks to me. One is 3M, other is Maxel. They have stikcers which say "Imation Laser Servo Technology". Can I just purchase an external zip drive to read these? Or is there some other type of drive I should be using? I used to have a drive that read them, my old computer back in 1997 which is LONG gone already. I am not sure what type of a drive it was that I was using (not really that computer literate - sorry) Can anybody help?

i'm stupid and i need step by step instructions...
Basically my external HD got infected, so i bought a program and backed up all the data on my desktop HD. now I want to nuke all the contents of the external drive so i can use it again. The drive is corrupted and is inaccessible, but i'm sure there is a way to wipe everything in it, including the virus that is making it inaccessible.

I have a Dell Dimension E521, 3 weeks old. The hard drive won't calm down. I was monitoring the AMD processors, and they were constantly processing something. Even when I wasn't doing anything. My mouse also shows a loading icon every 5 seconds. HELP?!! 10 points for best answer.

When I turn on the computer it opens, and some times it will open again sometime when I'm using my computer. It goes back in to its drive but yeah GERRRR>!! haha

I am trying to safely remove my external hard disk and my usb flash drive from my laptop and it could not do it. I am not accessing any programs from them and i could not find the reason why it could not do it. The error message is the typical one: the device "........" cannot be stopped because a program is still accessing it. Any ideas ?

When it goes into safemode I have to unplug it for several hours before I can get the hard drive to work again. If not, the hard drive light blinks yellow instead of green and will not come back on by just moving the mouse or hitting any key.

I spilled Dr. Pepper ALL over my key board!! What should I do to clean it up? all I did was wipe it off and let it air dry upside down, but now its really stciky and hard to push down on the keys! Should I rinse it out or somthing? I heard that you cant pop out keys cause you might break them, is that true?! And when I plug it in it makes a beeping sound.....why does it do that? and if I rinse it out will the beeping sound go away?Please help me its been 2 days!!
