SATA is supported in XP SP2. OK - Get all XP drivers for all of your hardware and burn to CD. If it is a major brand (Dell/HP) then go to their support site looking for all the drivers, but specify XP, not Vista. Format the drive using your XP CD in NTFS format. Install using the XP key - you cannot use your vista code....activate, and do the 80+ updates.

Update drivers.

Install antivirus, antispy.

Load applications.

Restore your data files.

Enjoy!

Windows XP needs SATA drivers. Press "F6" during the install, and then insert the driver floppy when prompted.

SATA drives have its own driver on a floppy disk. Upon XP installation, you'll be prompted to insert this floppy & press F6.
