I meant to clone the contents of a 250Gb IDE HDD to a new 250Gb SATA HDD. I loaded Hirens Boot CD and fired up Ghost 8.5.

I chose to copy from Disk 2 to Disk 1, and hit Confirm. A second later, and everything was finished, it said.

However, what happened was that the blank 250Gb SATA HDD got copied to the 250Gb IDE HDD that had years of information on it.

I am wondering if there is a way to recover the information that was on the 250Gb IDE HDD. If so, how?

I want to replace my IDE harddrive with my SATA one. Only I can't find the motherboard manual. So the situation is, when I take out the IDE, insert the SATA and new xp cd and turn the computer on, it doesn't read the hard drive at all. Thus preventing me from installing xp on it.

The hard drive is a "Western Digital 160GB SATA". The mother board is an ESC KT-600A. But like I said, I lost the manual. So any links to an online manual would be appreciated as much as a solution. Thanks

I have found that to play newer games the tab needs to be fully to the right (full acceleration). My problem lies when I try to view movies or listen to music. If it is still at that setting when i start the video, my whole system locks up. I am constantly manually changing the setting based on what i am running. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks guys!

I've taken the old driver and modem out of my system, shut down and done a cold reboot to make sure nothing shows up. I shut the system down again and install my new modem and restart the computer and I'll be danged if my system doesn't detect my old modem. It detects the new one also but installs the old one. How can it do that if it isn't even in there? Can anyone tell me why that is? My old modem is a Lucent Win Modem and my new one is a Diamond SupraPro Max PCI 56k v.92
Thank you all in advance.

Im using DVD-R to download movie files onto. Whilst the quality of the movie itself is fine, sometimes the movie pixilates ( I think thats the right term) or it jumps, and so on. My Sonic burning device always says the movies to large & I dont know how to overcome this,so I use DVD Shrink & burn them with that. Could this be my problem,or could it be Im using really cheap Discs & I mean cheap.

I have a 5 year old dell PC (when I bought it was a middle class PC). I am planning on building a new PC and was not sure what parts i could use from the old one. The new PC would not be used for games but rather as a home business computer. What parts can i salvage from the old PC and what parts do i have to buy new. I am somewhat familiar with PC but never built one before. I know i need a motherboard, but not sure which one to get (what motherboard works best with the new Intel 2 core duo.
