I have a ultra DMA hard drive that holds 120 GB and im only using 25 percent. Primary is set for DMA if a availible but is on PIO. I already tried the switch then switch back thing but didn't work. Secondary is on DMA if availible and on Ultra DMA Mode 2. What do i do? Is there a problem? I was told that my hard drive was going slow by www.pcpitstop.com

I am just guessing that you might have an older processor. If that is the case, then one running below 1.8mhz might have a tough time covering all that space in an efficient manner. The bigger the drive, the more power your processor needs to cover all that space looking for information. Big drives can give older pc's alot of extra storage but it comes with drawbacks. One suggestion might be to use the 120gb drive as a slave, for storage only and use a smaller drive as your primary.
Of couse if your pc isnt older than I'm not helping you much.
Good luck either way.
