My older computer is an hp pavilion 504n with an hp pavilion mx70 moniter. The speakers say polk audio. My new computer is a compaq prsario with a compaq mv540 moniter. Please help. i've tried everything.

It seems to me that as long as you have an audio jack in back of the new PC it should not be a problem. They are usually color coded with the green jack being the audio input.

Hi. Just about ALL speakers plug into a 1/8th inch jack on the back of the computer. Find the jack and plug it in. Adding a plug to speakers (if they don't have one for some reason) is simple. Good luck, those Polk Audio units sound good.
