can anybody help igot a laptop with media center when i try to connect to my plazma via s-video cable theres nothing on the screen any help please. thank you.

you may have to get your laptop to search and find the tv first.
with nvidia there is a util built into the software.

I assume that the large plasma screen works ok when it is not connected to the laptop?

After you have connected the s-video cable, is anything at all displayed on the laptop's own screen? If not, you may need a driver for the large screen - try doing an internet search for the make of the large screen you have.

Press the Function Key (Fn) and the look for the F key with what looks like 2 suares inside each other. Hold down the Fn key and then the other. You may have to press a few times as it changes from laptop to screen and both and then just the laptop.
Another way s to use your moniter cable.
Ensure your tv is set at PC

There is usually a combination of keys you need to press to switch from the built-in LCD to an external display. Often it is a Fn (function) key, plus some key labeled in another color with something like "LCD/CRT"
