I just recently had high speed hooked up and I remember the tech told me he had to disconnect my dialup card, could this have anything to do with the problem? Any help would be appreciated.

I have had my desk top fpr 5 years and have upgraded the memory to 1 G and am running Windows XP but I need to upgrade my hard drive. I currently have a 40G and am going to buy a 300G but then what? How do I transfer all the stuff off my old hard drive to the new one?

Just wondering if I could use a Lens Cleaner on my PC. I was just worried because some are solutions, and I didnt want it to effect my PC in anyway. Does Anyone know if I can? Or is it best to use the micro-brush Cd Cleaners?

I scaned it through ad-aware, I scaned it for viruses, through AVG, i activated that resident shield, im in safe mode mozilla firefox, and its still slow. I removed all those viruses but now sometimes mozilla firefox would disconnect for a little while. Whats wrong with my computer!

Ok, so i opened my computer case and checked the wattage of the power supply, it said maximum watt: 300 watts
Is that enough for a ATI X1950 PRO graphics card?
My computer has the folowing:
AMD athlon 64 3700+ processor
cd/dvd drive
2 gig memory
200GB Hard drive
2 USB drives

Is it possible that if i buy the ATI radeon x1950 pro and put it in my computer the motherboard fries up?
Ok, if i have to buy a new power supply, is a 450 watt a good one for the job?

A few years ago, I was operating my computer during an electrical storm and the power got knocked out. Whenever the power came back on, the computer started up just fine. However, after Windows loaded up, I discovered that all my PCI cards weren't working.

I had a sound card, wireless ethernet card, tv tuner and dial-up modem. Now, it seems none of them work. I've tried hooking them up to other computers and they don't work. Also, I tried putting a working sound card from another computer and it also was not detected.

I assumed the power failure had somehow destroyed anything to do with the PCI slots on the motherboard, including the cards plugged into the slots. It was strange that nothing else was effected including the video card which was in an AGP slot.

Why did the power failure only corrupt the PCI cards and PCI slots?

For some reason with my keyboard 'c' (I used an on-sreen keyboard to type that) key has stopped funtioning. I've taken the key up, there is nothing bloking it, I put a pen right into the hole under the key and fiddled around, still no luk. So if anybody an think about what's going on it would be greatly appreciated.

P.S. Every other key works fine.

I have a PC that was given to me. It came with a CD drive and had another installed. I plugged it all up and now it says that there is no CD player installed.

I upgraded my system and bought a lap top so have a back up. The old machine P2 with 40 GB hard drive works perfecty and it seems a pity to take it to the tip. The hard drive is formated ready for software installation. Who will take it off my hands in the West Midlands/ Shropshire?

everytime i try to browse the net with windows explorer the whole thing hangs.
this doesnt happen when i use mozilla firefox as the browser.

I have three Hard drives, Two of them are 1.5 gig, and one is a 540.8MB. Its a old P3 490MHZ. I would like to install XP pro on it, as I have a old copy of pro that I am not using, ( from a PC that the Processor turned to a lump of goo).

I have never tried to make the pc see all three drives as one yet, What do I need to do to accomplish this task? (details details details)..

I know I need some kind of raid driver, and I know that when installing XP it says press F6 if you need to install a raid driver...

i want to ask wether anyone knows about this Palm PDA. i bought this from a friend,without any software cd. so i bought USB cabel myself,charger,all by myself and the cd as well fro a pc shop.Now the problem is after so long i waited ,to install everything in my palm tungstenW, i can;t syncronize my palm handheld and my pc,the connection between my handheld,and my deskstop,i tried go through the user guide i downloaded online,still no difference,i am living in kuala lumpur, i went to many places, still i am loooking for an answer to help me out,once when i was connecting my handheld and deskstop, i received a message on my deskstop,telling me that my device has malfunctioned. what i can do?i am afraid,its really not worth it if i can't use that Palm PDA.please help

i wanted to know if having a low amount of RAM would decrease the graphics driver performance... i have a 82845G intel graphics controller and 256MB RAM... its just that when im playing games it pauses constantly and also shows a black screen for a good whole minute between scenes... im not sure if it has a driver bug but i have updated the drivers from the manufactuers website and also uninstalled it and reinstalled it.... should i buy more RAM or buy a New graphic driver or both? if i do need to can you tell me a good graphics driver to buy for a windows xp home edition. thanks

Well i bought a Dell Dimension e520 about 3 months ago with a Pentium D 805 dual core, 1 gb of ram, an Nvidia 7300 LE video card, a 150 gb hdd,etc. Well anyways i want to upgrade my processor to a Core 2 Duo e6300 or e6400, I asked Dell about it and they said that my mobo supports Core 2 Duo so i could upgrade it, but thats all they can tell me besides it is at my own risk, and they dont recommend processor upgrades, and all the other crap trying to get me to just stick with what i have or send it back to them to upgrade it so they can charge me. What i want to know is do you think it will be really hard to upgrade this processor, and is it normal for people to upgrade the cpu in Dell comps? Also i need to know if after i install it do i have to change any settings whatsoever? Since it is the same socket (775) and i have a diagram that tells me how to install the new processor, i think it would go pretty good, i just need some advice........Thanks alot :D

i just erased my external hard drive by formatting the wrong drive.....isnt there a dos command to undo formatting...so i can get back my media that took years to collect
