Alright for some time now i've had a Shuttle XPc SN21G5 that i bulit a few months back. My system has a AMD Athlon 64 3800+ 2.41 GHz Processor, 2.00 GB or RAM (max that it can go to), 160 GB SATA Hard drive, and a NVIDIA GeForce 7300 GS 512 MB PCI Express x16. Now this thing is that i'm planing on upgrading my card for my system being that it's going to be the second card for it. My question is, what better video card can i put in it? The system isn't SLI Ready so it's just a basic PCI Express x16 video card that's in it. Can anyone help?

Is this feature overhyed sales gimmick?

I have heard some people say that many things are not even programmed to accept dual core and that it is only good if you are doing heavy applications (video games) or multi tasking, which I dont really do , except when I run spyware checks. Any thoughts otherwise about this ?

Thanks.

Help...Q! RE: files automatically deleted when shutting down PC.?
hi,
how do i set-up my pc so that:
1)when i start up my pc in the morning only the files and programs i have chosen are loaded
2) only the files and programs i have chosen remain saved on my pc when i shut it down at the end of the day and any other data saved during the day is automatically deleted?

all help is appreciated.

Additional Details

i know it can be done becos i got the idea from using internet cafes and public access work stations in the past... some of which delete files (to keep hard drive from filling up) at the end of the day but some files/programs are retained for the next day. once i learnt about this the hard way...in one of these places i saved my work logged off in a hurry only to come back the next day and find that it had all been deleted.
by the way my question is in reference to permanent memory in the hard disk like the 'c' drive for e.g. not RAM.

ty.

I just bought a new Dell with a SATA hard drive. I have a two year old West.Dig. 120 Gb HDD that I would like to add onto my system. The old HDD is a parallel ATA (40 pin), can it be added and will it be compatible? I do have one open 40 pin slot on the board that the manual says is open for a floppy drive. I understand the SATA was designed to replace the master/slave format of the parallel ATA type. Help???

Hi ,I just bought a Antec smart power supply 500 watt fan for my pc...all was fine for 3 days then my system started to become unstable with my CD burner trying to start up by itself and then it would freeze my pc up...i returned my pc back to the computer store to fine out what is the problem since i feel it has to do with that new fan...the old fan i use to have was only a 350 watt....well the computer store is trying to blame what happen on my electricity...which i cannot understand how since i never had a problem before nor do i have any other problems with anything else the room that my pc is plugged in ...i have checked to see what all is on the breaker for my room and it is just lights and my tv...so what i would like to know is how much does a 500 watt draw for usuage and if there is more usage being over drawn on a breaker wouldnt this blow first? rather then my burner trying to start up on my pc?.please if anyone has any suggestions to this mystery..Thanks..
