Yes you are right, Transcend is one of the best flash memory available in Indian market. 1GB should cost you any where between 900 - 1000 Rs. in Indian Market. And it comes with 1 year Warranty.

A couple of weeks back, we reviewed the Corsair Flash Voyager 2 GB USB drive. It was the fastest thumb drive we tested till then. Today we have a similar device from one of its well known competitors, Transcend. The Transcend JetFlash 120 is certainly a lot more affordable than the Corsair but whether it can perform at par, we will soon find out.
I don't think there is a need to mention anything about the company Transcend or about what a flash memory drive (thumb drive) is. This drive has a capacity of 2 GB (1.95 GB after format). Just like the Corsair, this drive had a shrink wrapped package that comprised of a driver and software CD, instructions manual and a neck strap. There was no USB extender cable in the bundle, so be prepared to crawl behind the cabinet if you don't have front USB ports on your cabinet. As usual, drivers were not necessary under Windows XP as the drive was detected and ready to use seconds after I plugged it into a USB port. The bundled CD also comprised of certain data security applications that allow you to password protect the data on the drive, or ever better a PC-Lock function that lets you use the drive as a key to lock your computer. Quite interesting but I didn't have the time to test either. So I will leave it at that.
The Transcend JetFlash 120 has approximate dimensions of 7 x 2 x 0.9 cm (L x B x D) and weighs about 10 grams. This drive has no shock resistant rubber shell seen in the Corsair. The outer shell here is made of plastic. The build quality seems a touch suspect and there is certainly some room for improvement. An activity LED is present at the centre of the drive. This is a USB 2.0 drive (backward compatible with the older USB 1.1 ports) and if you wish to take full advantage of its transfer speed, it is mandatory to use it with a USB 2.0 port. Just for your info, the maximum theoretical throughput for USB 1.1 and USB 2.0 ports is 1.5 MBps and 60 MBps respectively.

Basically the pen drive brand is not very important, unless you go for warranty. Some brands offer more than others.
What you SHOULD check for is:
- Do you like the quality (sturdy!)
- Is it large enough for you, or do you think you`ll need more space soon?
- Is the price acceptable?
As Pen Drives / USB keys do not have moving parts, that will not be an issue.
As to Transcend Warranty:
2. Duration of Warranty
This limited warranty only applies to the original end user customer of the product for as long as the original end user customer owns the product. This limited warranty is non-transferable. The products listed herein, are subject to change without notice, please check the Warranty Card of your product(s) or confirm with the seller or distributor for the validity of the warranty period.

As of I know some of my friends have transcend pen drive and they were all working fine, its a good brand. Why cant you buy 2 GB instead of 1 GB. The difference may be around 1000 Rs.
But my suggession is If money is not a big concern, you can go for creative Pen Drive, coz they are very well known brand for quality. They are some what expensive than transcend.
If you cant afford, they you can buy transcend.

Another good pen drive that I have used is Sandisk Micro Cruzer U3, this one has applications like Skype, Anti Virus and Mozilla Firefox installed and ready to use on the pen drive wherever you go. This drive also supports file encryption. The only downside is that they can be very expensive for the amount of storage you get although sometimes they can be found very cheap.
