By memory I'm assuming you mean RAM? 2 things you can do.
If you have the "My Computer" icon on your desktop and go to my just right click on it and choose "properties" (or Start Menu > My Computer > Right click > Properites) This will bring up the system properties display and at the bottom will be some system information including your cpu type and speed and the amount of RAM / memory you have.
Or Start Menu > All programmes > Accessories > System Tools > System Information. Look for total physical memory. This also gives you lots more useful information about your pc.
If its hard drive space Start Menu > My Computer > Right click on the Hard Drive (maybe called Local Disk C) and choose Properties and this will tell you the size and how much is being used.

For RAM press Start > Settings > Control Panel > System >
at the bottom right will be you RAM.
Note: RAM maybe 4 to 64 Mb less then you expect if the Video is shared.
For Hard Drive capacity Start > My Computer > Right click over the Hard Drive and select Properties.

if your looking for ram (random access memory) go to your my computer icon and right click and select properties, then select the computer name tab at the top of the box. It should tell you there how much memory you have. If your talking about hard drive space, select my computer and right click, select manage, then disk management and that should tell you how your hard drive is configured and how much space you have on each.

Depends what kind of OS (Operating System) you have, but suppose you have windows: you can press the button {start} select the option {run}, type in that line "cmd" (command line) hit enter or the button OK and you type in the window which will open "mem" and hit enter.
The biggest figure is your total memory in bytes.... which mean 7 figures is a gigabyte.

both the above answers are correct:
If you are talking about physical space on your hard drive - how much memory you have left to store new programs and files - then tuila's answer is the one you need
If you are talking about RAM, which will store programs as they are running and generally speed up processes and programs, then bluebettalady's answer is the one you want
