if my motherboard only supports IDE, is it possible for me to install a dvd writer which has an E-IDE interface?

oh... one more question about power supply...
if i buy a power supply in canada, is it possible for me to use it in other country?
(i suppose the AC in different country is different? can a power supple that is bought in canada be able to turn different volts of AC to DC?)

Yes, get an E-IDE Card that will Assist in running the E-IDE devices, cheap but useful

Powersupplies bought in the US or canada can generally be switched between 110v 60Hz (US, Canada, etc) and 220v 50Hz (UK, etc). As long as the country your going to uses either on of these standards, you can switch the power supply accordingly. There is usually a small recessed slider switch accessible from the back of the power supply to do this. Also, you will of course also need an adaptor to make sure you plug will fit into the other countries sockets!
