Is it better to spend more money on a good CPU or should i get a cheaper CPU and get a better video card. I want this computer mostly for playing games. i have a $1000 budget.

I am pretty good with computers, inside and out, and bought an ATI Raedeon 9200 AGP video card for my PC. I intalled the hardware correctly and installed the software correctly. It started up fine and runs all applications totally fine, except World of Warcraft. When I play WoW my computer will restart itself, sometimes after 30 minutes, sometimes after 30 seconds. I have downloaded every driver known to man for my motherboard chipset, for the video card, and I have talked with WoW tech support. It is not just this video card, I bought another ATI Raedeon when this one didn't work and I had the same problem. WTF?

I'm buying a flash drive and I will only store documents on it pretty much. Maybe a few pics but no videos. And 90% probably no music.

So, does anyone have a list/site of how much each can hold? Like say a 126 MB holds 40 documents, a 256 MB holds ---, and a 1GB holds ---

got £300 to spend on a graphics card, pci-x, thinking in the 8800gtx bracket but its a little above my price range, ive looked in to this for few weeks now and checked toms h/w guide but some reall people recommendations wouldnt go amiss, this is for self built system that im just getting off the ground.

The Nec Dvd+Rw ND-3530A keeps asking me to insert blank disc into drive.The burning software used is Sonic Digital Media LEV 7.Could it be that the drive has failed or there is a problem with the software.Many thanks if you could help.

Hello,
I have a USB seagate i use for backups here at work, and i have mappings already associated with my profile here with active directory which i dont control. Anyway one mapping in particular goes to an " i:\ " which i need to have open all the time for the programs. I noticed when i plug my USB HDD in, lights are on, but nothing will show up in 'my computer' list of drives... if i disconnect the current " i:\ " then i can see my USB SEAGATE HDD. But then programs i am working in error out coz i disconnected. Now when i disconnect the USB drive.... i lose the 'i' drive and have to completely log out of win xp and back in to acquire the mappings.

Is there a setting i can get to that will tell the computer here "hey stupid, go to the next available drive letter instead of " i:\ " (or something to that effect :) )

i have a 1 GB flash that when plugged in, gives itself " f:\ " with mappings in place... frustrating i cant get the USB SEAGATE to do the same.... please help

are there any hidden files?? i counted the space the folders occupy and its only 3.69 gb. why is this happening? is something wrong with my computer?? this is hampering its performance.

I recently installed a new OS (win xp pro) on my computer.
intel pentium 4 Dreamsys by http//:www.trigem.co.kr. I am in Korea

Now my computer only displays 4 colors.
If i check the setting, my only choice is four colors.

When I check what device is installed, it comes up blank.

I have spent all day trying to figure out what driver I need to install. I was reading some Yahoo answers and some one suggested using the "dxdiag" to find out the display device running on the computer.

My display device comes up blank when I look on the direct X diagnostic.

What did I do to my computer?

I have a liteon SHW-160 P6S dvd burner i have put a blank dvd disk in the drive im using nero 7.5.9 and i have used Info tool to check the disk and the infotool says theres no disk in the drive... and i have tried deep burner also.. and everytime i try to burn some movie files it tells me the drive might be busy or there is no disk in the drive i have checked to see just incase there wasnt but there was a dvd in there and i still cant figure whats wrong with it plz help its driving me krazy

I have this motherboard:

I want to add another IDE Hard Drive. I already have a Western Digital 70GB hard Drive installed in there.
1) Do I just attach the new hard drive to the free port on the motherboard? Or do I attach it to the ribbon that's connected to the existing hard drive?
2) Are ATA, P/ATA and IDE Hard Drives the exact same thing just with different names?

It happens sometimes... There is absolutely nothing running from it, but it still can't be removed. I've checked the Task Manager, and all the processes running are the normal ones. And if anyone insists it's a virus/worm/trojan/etc, then it's something AVG Anti-virus 7.5 and AVG Anti-spyware 7.5 (Free) can't detect... It's a Samsung, BTW, and it's happened on various computers...

Ok so i have a gateway 450 laptop. And the computer doesnt reconize the drive when it is inserted to the computer. The cd/dvd light comes and it turns the cd that in there. but the computer desnt even reconzie that the drive is connected how do I fix this?
