Ok so i have a gateway 450 laptop. And the computer doesnt reconize the drive when it is inserted to the computer. The cd/dvd light comes and it turns the cd that in there. but the computer desnt even reconzie that the drive is connected how do I fix this?

Plz check is CD drive properly connected in many Laptops CD drive is detachable may be it may not be properly connected this can be confirmed from your BIOS.Also check for all drivers including of CD Drive and Motherboard u can also check in device manager whether the device has been disabled or not.If all this doesn't work it means ur CD Drive is faulty kindly get it checked at nice service centre.Best-of-luck

install the proper driver for that hardware
