The best way is opening up your computer and seeing for yourself, if you're a novice in doing so then I wouldn't recommend it. Otherwise, you can try to Google CPU-Z. Maybe that program might help.

If using Belarc, or going to Crucial doesn't tell you, you can usually tell by simply opening your computer case and reading the spec label on the RAM.

Depending on the type of processor, it will be also easy to guess at it as well. Say you have a Pentium III processor, I can easily say that you would probably have PC133 SDRAM or compatible. If you have a AMD AthlonXP processor between 1500+ to 2400+, you could have PC2100 DDR.

P4 up to 2.8GHz, could be PC2700 DDR.

Make sure before you look at or touch anything inside your computer that you have it completely unplugged from the power source!

Good luck!

Well first go to the internet and find the computer manufacturer site and put in the model number. This will give to a complete break down of all components. You may also get some info by going to the start tab, settings, control panel and then system. This will at least let you know your model number.

Check the web site of your computer manufacturer. Usually they will ask for your serial number or some other code to identify your computer. It should give you specifics on what type of memory you have.

You can also check any online memory sites like the one below. Type in your computer specs and it will pull up the correct memory info.
