Since it is not a computer cd drive, very easy to fix. You could pay money for cleaning kit or simply get rubbing alcohol, put on q-tip, open chamber of cd player and simply wipe down glass lens inside of player. Make sure you let it dry out a few seconds, blow any excessive dust out, then cd should rock after that!

Pull the CD drive out and lay it on some books. Connect it to the computer with the IDE cable and put your hand on it 5 minutes at a time to see if it gets hot. If it does, then it probably was destoryed by the heat and you need another one.

it could be a bad cd or you may need to turn off the computer and re-start it and try it again. if it does it again try another cd if that fails then you might need a new program or a new cd drive.

If your computer is not working properly while you are working on it, it could be a problem with device drivers, hardware or software.
