I'm buying a flash drive and I will only store documents on it pretty much. Maybe a few pics but no videos. And 90% probably no music.

So, does anyone have a list/site of how much each can hold? Like say a 126 MB holds 40 documents, a 256 MB holds ---, and a 1GB holds ---

Thanks

Um okay, I mean how MUCh can 1gB hold, like 35 documents, whatever

I know it would vary with document size, but I just want average.

Well, lets say your average word document is 50kb. 1gb is 1048576kb, so we divide that by 50 and we get 20971.52 word documents. 1gb is a pretty large flash drive, I'm not sure why anyone would need more.

I have a 1GB, and it holds plenty. If you are only storing documents, go with either a 512 MB or a 1 GB. You will not need anything more. A few pictures will not really change this, but you may want to leaen towards a 1 GB. Pictures also depends on how many megapixels your camera is set to, and how high-quality pictures it takes. If you are holding music, a 1 GB flash drive could hold between 25 and 35 hours of music, without anything else on it. For documents, I cannot give you an accurate estimation because it would really depend on what kind of document. Hope this helps!

Well Documents can be huge or tiny, and so can pictures... there isn't a real goog way to tell. An average mp3 is about 3-4 MB and an average doc is less than a meg. Sounds like your best choice woule be a 256MB.

126 holds a lot more than 40 documents. if you need it just for personal use, a 512 should be fine. for work maybe a 2 gig. ah, but if your storing music-remember music takes up about 5 MB/song. but text docs are almost nothing...i have like a page and a half written in wordpad i just checked and its 6KB

well a 1gb can hole about 200 mp3's and 300 wma's, but the best idea would be to compress the files, especially music

and the boxes have the ammount, most documents are about
20 mb

It totally depends on the quality of the scan because the size of the file would vary greatly. Scan 1 page, right click on the file, go to properties, and look at the size of the file. There are 1024kb in 1mb, 1024mb in 1gb.

1 GB is enough to hold more documents than you could imagine. If you were putting mp3's on there you could hold 250 mp3's. I would go with the 1GB, it's cheap at TigerDirect

Unless you have XP or 2000, the largest thumbdrive, you can use is 512MB.
