I want to add a PCI express video card or a use card to it but only cards in half width can fit it. Cards in width of only a half of a regular PCI card are sold on market?

I just got a sweet deal on this computer ($800)
It has a pentium 3 300MHz and 64mb of SDRAM. Don't get me started on how sweet this thing is. I'm trying to install vista, but the CD won't fit in the floppy drive. This is making me really angry

I can upgrade the RAM to 256mb.

If I upgraded the RAM, would it be able to handle xubuntu and beryl? A guy made a youtube video of himself running xubuntu with beryl on a Pentium III 450 Mhz with 126 MB RAM and a Geforce 2 MX. I know the processor and ram in the hp pavillion 6735 can handle it, but I'm unsure of the GPU

I deleted the Soundmax on my pc, it's too late to do a system restore. This is a DELL computer, and I have Windows XP.

Please let me know if that is enough information. how i can get my sound back

where can i download the soundmax back to my computer?

I have a new Pavilion desktop from HP running Vista Home Premium, and I want to reformat the entire drive. (I'm just quirky and don't trust that HP installed all my drivers and stuff right, and I just want a fresh start). I've made my recovery discs, and they seem like they work. So when I go to reformat, can I just delete the recovery partition and work with one full partition? Thanks in advance.

just finished building another computer, and pressed the power button, to find that nothing even makes a sound, except a faint click of the PSU when i press the power button, what does this mean? is the input/output voltage incorrect? too much/too little current? anyone with any ideas, muchly appriciated!! I want to get a new computer, i use my PC mostly for music and photos and internet. I need a lot of storage space for music and pictures. I love the way Macs look, and they seem really simple to use. I dont have a huge amount of space for big towers or monitors. I've been advised against Macs by a few people as they say you cant upgrade them etc...
But im not a tech guy, im into music and art and want a computer to do this on, i dont care if my computer has the latest components or not, provided it does what i want it to.

My father bought me a 2nd hand PC here's the specs:
CPU= Intel Pentium 4 1.60GHz
Bios=Phoenix-awardBIOS v6.00PG
MotherBoard=P4M266-8233
Max Clock Speed: 1592MHz
CurrentCLockSpeed= 1592 MHz
ExtClock:100 MHz

The RAM card I saw was 2pcs of 256MB PC266/PC2100,, I want to upgrade my Memory into 2 pcs of 1GB. A total of 2GB. But when I go to look for PC266/PC2100 on computer store, they said that it was already phase out and DDR-400/PC3200, DDR2-400/PC2-3200 is their only available stock. I wonder if this two types (DDR2-400 and DDR-400) are compatible with my PC,, Can you please help me? I have no idea on this.

i have two questions:
1) is it possible to hook up a 4 pin molex connector to a case fan? because im going to build a computer with 3 or 4 fans, however i only have 2 connectors designated as "fan only" while im gonna have a lot of spare molex connectors

2) what is a 4 pin cpu connector? i first heard about it on this site under the tech specs

Similar problems happen in banking, and commerce, and even government. The vulnerability of computers is such that when they malfunction, everything else go haywire. When I was in the Navy, we had fifteen different ways that we could stir the ship just in case we lose primary steering. Can't the industry install "standby" systems so that disruptions can be minimized during a main computer malfunction?

Im downloading 27 films but they come as 1 download, the total size is 22.38 gig. The estimated time is about 9 days, averaging about 30kb/s. Will my PC overheat or is it ok to have it on for this long. Also, if i switched it off for a while then turned it back on would the download continue from where it had got to (13% at present time), or would it be lost.
