I recently got a hold of one. the specs can be found at:

I can upgrade the RAM to 256mb.

If I upgraded the RAM, would it be able to handle xubuntu and beryl? A guy made a youtube video of himself running xubuntu with beryl on a Pentium III 450 Mhz with 126 MB RAM and a Geforce 2 MX. I know the processor and ram in the hp pavillion 6735 can handle it, but I'm unsure of the GPU

here's the video

Thanks man. I think Beryl is based on openGL, which is pretty light on system requirements

It has a "decent" video chipset, made by Intel. I don't know what the minimum requirements are for the video RAM in Beryl, but I can install it on my old laptop (with an even slower processor and 4 MB of video RAM) to give you a comparison. I'll post back with the results.

Update: I did manage to get it working, but the graphics didn't seem to render correctly, and it was terribly slow. I think this is because my video card does not support some special "texture map". I don't know how to test if your card has the proper, except to start Beryl from the command line and watch it's output. There are some special "binding" commands that you may have to use (I did) in order to get it working.
