I'm planning on buying a new desktop that will handle games extremely well. I'm looking at this one desktop that has 4gb ram, amd 6000+ dc2 processor, and a geforce 8800 gtx 768mb video card. I think this system will be able to handle games out now and in the near future very well. It's costing me about $2,300 w/o a monitor. But, it's giving me the option of getting an additional video card (the same as the one I have in it now) for about $500. Is it worth it to get the 2nd card to increase my fps by what seems to sometimes double from video card reviews or should I save the money and buy one later if need be? $500 seems like a lot, but then again I want to be impressed by my new system and not disappointed. What should I do? What would the additional video card do? How much improvement?

I might get 4 Gb of RAM with this. If I only get 2Gb of RAM, will I still benefit from a 64-Bit O.S.?

Hey just wondering if you can play any games on either 64Bit XP/ Vista?

Especially new games, not so much old ones.

The world is gonna eventually move fully to 64Bit so i am wondering if i should prepare.

The computer will still boot up, and I am using it to get on the internet, but when I try to use my word processor, the hard drive starts to make a grinding sound and the computer locks up. What should I do? Should I try to reinstall the word processor/office software--I know I will probably have to replace the drive eventually--but will unstalling/reinstalling the software help anything? What should I do?

I want to upgrade my motherboard and CPU but I saw in someone else's question about changing out motherboards that they were told that they might have to re-format or re-install windows. Is there any way around having to do that? I want to be able to use my old hard drive and keep all of the data I have on it. I don't know anything about fixing computers and I don't know where to look for power supply information or anything like that.

I have a small corner desk for my PC as I am quite limited for space in my house, I also have a printer but nowhere to store it.
Does anyone know if it would be ok to store the tower on it's side so that I can place the printer on top of it?

My hard drive was blown out by my internal power supply going out. Also did a job on my mouse. I have always had a green light on the front of my computer but nobody seems to know what the red light is. It just appeared after I got my computer back from the shop.

Ok, so this is usually how it happens, i turn on my computer, start to do my work and then click... its off and rebooting. Usually this only happens when i open like a video or an online game. I've used 3 virus scanners and a spyware scanner and i'm completely and totally clean of all spyware/virus's so now im left with a computer that turns off the second it loads something big up... whats the problem here?

From what I gether I can overclock to about 3.4 on this processor, but like I said I am having trouble setting the bios - I dont want to make any mistakes!
I need help with the multiplier, and with the fsb and memory timings, and ANY other bios settings that are better raised.
A list of settings or a link to same would be great.

Thanks!
