My hard drive was blown out by my internal power supply going out. Also did a job on my mouse. I have always had a green light on the front of my computer but nobody seems to know what the red light is. It just appeared after I got my computer back from the shop.

That is the hardrive activity led, if it blinks, the program is accessing a file or running the hard disk, if it is dim red, hardisk is idle..

Is it on all the time or flickering on/off?

If it's on all the time, no idea... they've probably wired something up odd in the box, so ask them.

If it flickers on/off it's probably the disk activity light.

Has it got a symbol by it?

This sounds like it may be the hard drive activity light.

It will light up whenever your hard drive has activity.

This is normal.
