That is the hardrive activity led, if it blinks, the program is accessing a file or running the hard disk, if it is dim red, hardisk is idle..

Is it on all the time or flickering on/off?
If it's on all the time, no idea... they've probably wired something up odd in the box, so ask them.
If it flickers on/off it's probably the disk activity light.
Has it got a symbol by it?

This sounds like it may be the hard drive activity light.
It will light up whenever your hard drive has activity.
This is normal.

usually it is the hard drive led. open up your computer and you can cross check the motherboard manual and the plug for the led.

Ask the computer shop, if you do not have an owner's manual.
