running windows vista business.
cool and queit is enabled
does any one know HOW LONG cool and queit will KEEP my Computers PROCESSOR ALIVE?
I want to know please and if there is an answer that i don't like i will report it

I have had my desktop for 2 years now and I want to put windows vista on it but can I install vista if my computer does'nt say windows vista capable on the sticker that comes on the CPU and tells you what operating system your computer was designed to run.

My dad says he simply turned on the computer and clicked on Firefox, but then the icon disappeared. I still have Firefox, but even time I try to start it, it tells me I am in safe mode and I need to pick something from a menu and then restart out of safe mode (yet safe mode nevers goes away!). Also Google Earth starts with DirectX Mode. PLEASE what did my dad do.

I just bought a Microsoft Comfort Curve Keyboard 2000 (USB), & my computer won't recognize it. I've tried plugging it in while it's on & while it's off. Nothing. One time it was shifting back & forth between recognizing it & not. Then in the end it still wouldn't work. I'm wondering if I could be having a hardware conflict somewhere, though I don't know between what components. OR, is there some trick I need to know to get it to regonize it. It's a Plug-N-Play device, no software. My current keyboard is the Microsoft Natural Multimedia Keyboard 1.0A (PS2). Any suggestions?

Well i currently have those widescreen hp's but it always has problems and is really slow at times and fast at others. I really want a Imac but not sure if i should get one. 1st- price dosnt matter 2- i like the play games but on sites like miniclip and addictinggames 3- i love music 4- i want to be a fashion DESIGNER 5- i love the camera feature that mac's have! 6-i go on the internet alot 6- i have windows stuff only so like what would i use for macs? receiving my VISTA HOME Premium upgrade discs. I hear lots of problems with Vista at the moment, hopefully most of the Vista bugs will be ironed out soon. I have 2 NTFS partition on my current 250GB Sata hard drive as drive C: and a Drive D:. My question is would i be able to load VISTA in the D partition and leave my XP as is on the Drive C:. Will i be able to pick which Windows OS i want to use at boot up.

I recently bought and installed a Seagate 200gb harddrive. I right click on my c:/, the maximum free space memoryi is 125 gb not 200 or somewhere closer. I just formatted my comp this morning so there is no other program or files besides what comes with the window installations and drivers.

I am missing about 75 gig in memory, any ideas where it went and how to get those 69 gig back?

Ok im out looking for a pretty good computer i was looking at alien ware computers and i thought they where good but i am not sure.
I want my computer to be able to handle some gaming music and movies. i want one with lots of memory and that will run fast and not be a crap shoot. It has too have good graphics. so Bascily a computer taht runs fast can hold a lot. for idk under 3000 maybe or less.

My dvd writer code is: NEC DVD RW ND-2510A (if that helps)

I have had it for a few years, and it had never had a problem, until now. I bought some new dvd's which do not work on my burner. I have tested the new dvds on a couple other pcs and a mac and they worked fine. But for some reason my dvd writer will not write to these discs, but it does still write to my regular discs, just not these new ones.

The new discs are by a company called CMC, they are 16x -r dvds.

Please someone help me as im going crazy trying to solve the problem.

I first saw this computer as reconditioned on the pc world website for £499 where it has seemed to have disappeared. I then looked on eBay but all have defects such as dents and scratches. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks

Hi, I saw this deal for a Dell Dimension E521 Desktop that comes with a 19" LCD and looks like it is fully loaded for $529.

Is that good? Or should I hold out for a better deal?

my computer hasnt done this until recently, and i have tried updates for windows, graphics card, anti-virus, anti-spyware, etc., as well as run all my scans, disc clean up, and defrag (i do all the above regularly).... lately when i play games on my comp and then go back to the desktop it switched to a low graphics mode of some sort where the icons no longer hav a picture and when i go to various folders they are in the simpler graphic format withou visual styles and smoothed edges and such. performance seems fine, and nothing else ive noticed is different. input please, thank you.

I'd like to buy a kneeling chair, so that I can also sit in an other position when using the computer. The problem is with the kneeling chair I cannot hold the keyboard in my lap which I usually do when I use my normal chair.

I cannot use my desk either, because then the monitor would be to close (it's not a big desk).

Is there any existing solution to use a keyboard with a kneeling chair? I don't want to buy a new desk if possible.

Is there a separate "keyboard holder" thingie which I could put in front of my kneeling chair (no, my desk doesn't have any)? Can you recommend some sites where I could find such things?

I'm also interested in alternative ideas if you have any.
