I have the same model of computer at home. It came with 512 MB RAM from Dell. Later I added 512 MB from Crucial.com to bring the RAM up to a gig and it made a big difference.

A Dell Dimension 2400 has 2 RAM slots and can take up to 2 gigs RAM, so you have room to expand (but you'll have to do some stick-swapping). You can get your RAM from Dell or Crucial (probably others, too) and you'll be fine. Other vendors will be cheaper than Dell, so feel free to shop around. Good luck!

you have more than enough with what you have, if your computer is slow then get rid of all the cookise, and web history, do a disk clean up then do a defrag, you'll find tha the system will work faster,,

download Mozilla Firefox 2 web browser, it is the most secure browser out to day, set it up to delete all cookies, history, and private data, read the help files it will tell you how to do this

if you go to dell and click on the upgrade link it will tell how much ram is the max and also say what form factor of ram you need!( just guessing prob DDR 184 pin memory and prob 1GB is the max)
hope this helps have a nice day
