My dad says he simply turned on the computer and clicked on Firefox, but then the icon disappeared. I still have Firefox, but even time I try to start it, it tells me I am in safe mode and I need to pick something from a menu and then restart out of safe mode (yet safe mode nevers goes away!). Also Google Earth starts with DirectX Mode. PLEASE what did my dad do.

You dad may have changed icons to Firefox's "safe mode". When you install Firefox it comes with two modes, safe and regular. You can try searching for the regular icon under the start menu or in the C drive. Or you can reinstall Firefox and the reinstalled version will have the regular icon.

Sounds like something corrupted one or more of the files in Firefox. Reinstall the program and it will probably resolve the issue.

Reinstall firefox, it'll take 4 minutes and they just released a new version anyway

restore your computer back to 1day prior to u r dad sitting through system restore
everything will work fine
