Just installed new motherboard and proccessor, everything is correct. When you boot up the h.d. (tried 3 diffrent ones) and the 2 optical drives will not work with the ide cables pluged in. You can boot, then remove the ide from the optical or h.d. and you can hear it start up running, ./the optical drive you then open the bay door,. Am i missing something to fix this or is there a short or is the board bad. also, tried 2 diffrent ide bus cables. Same thing. All drives are good and work

This computer has just been recently re-formatted but it still keeps on shutting down and starts by itself (sometimes I would hear like a denonating sound of a bomb - lol before it does) then when it restarts a pop up windows tells something like this "Your system has recovered from serious error". And sometimes, the browser closes by itself too and crashes down. Any advice? I Have WIndows XP and this computer is bought like 2 years ago. Thanks!

Damn computer started acting weird after I messed with ram I replaced 1 256mb out of 2 with 512mb for total of 768mb worked fine I switched back to 256mb for both slots total of 512mb then It started rebooting after windows xp load screen appears with a brief appearance of a blue screen which disappears right away so I am not able to read what it says it goes back to start up with options to start windows in different modes (i.e. safe mode) It does same thing regardless in which mode it started I am able to start it in normal mode after few tries. I have tried changing memory modules and switching them around it reads them fine every time so I know it's not bad ram. Please help with this problem before l take the damn thing to a shooting range!
(Ram type: DDR PC 2700)
p.s.
It did the same thing in my friends computer after replacing single 256mb with that same single 512mb ram

Thanks

I am looking at buying the following computer:

"Enclosed are the prices for the system as requested. I do not have a card
reader with firewire built-in - you have to get a case with front firewire.
Please note that the below system does not include windows".

Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 2.4GHz $465
Asus P5B-E motherboard $199
Mushkin 2GB (2x1G) DDR2 667 RAM $348
Seagate 320GB SATA HDD 16MB $143
LG 18X DVDRW $50
Asus Geforce 7600GS 512MB PCIE $199
Standard ATX Case & PSU with FIREWIRE $100
Internal Multi Card Reader $20
Logitech X-230 2.1 speakers $65
LG L1952T 19" DVI/8ms LCD $320
Logitech MX3200 Keyboard & Mouse $128
Installation & Testing $30
TOTAL (cash price, credit +2%) $2067

The computer is mainly used for internet, email, photo viewing and the odd computer games such as Law and Order, CSI and soccer management games.

Do you think the computer is suitable and all components consistent and well matched? Please provide your honest feedback and any suggestions.
