the replacement that worked for a week was from newegg. but like you said it might not be a power supply issue. any idea why it doesnt boot not even with a recovery cd?

Macs are more stable and better in almost every way, from my viewpoint. You can also run Windows on a Mac.

i ended a process in the Process section of the task manager and the computer wont work properly anymore. my computer keeps turning off almost every 10 min and i have to wait about half an hour to turn it on again. The manufacturing company closed down and i dont know where i can get the restore disk for my computer from.

Hi Can anybody tell me if it's possible to save a Flash streamining video from Youtube? I have found stuff to do it on Windoze but i use Mac OS X Tiger etc..... I really want to save the following video to use in FrontRow:

okay....there is this site called craigslist and someone posted this... It is cheap and comes with monitor and everything, I want it to do some gaming (guild wars,counter strike source, etc) and was wondering if that would be a good idea... I will upgrade it if you guys think it is a good idea to get it.. like graphics card and the ram...err.. here it is

im building my own computer from a barebones kit from tiger direct, and the two im deciding on have those cpus with them... im not sure which to get. I went to toms hardware and did a comparison, and the 3700+ was only an average of 6 seconds slower than the 4000+

I have a computer that has 2 pc3200/400mhz 512mb SIMM sticks.

I recently got another 512 mb stick of DIMM pc3200/400mhz memory.

I only have 2 slots of memory, and they are all full.

What should I do?

Should I just leave the SIMM memories or should I install 1 simm and 1 dimm??? i reaaaaly need help.

I'm trying to download a game that says the requirements are 500 MHz processor. I checked to see what processor my computer has and it said 1.70 HGz.

Is 1.70 HGz the same as 500 MHz?

Also, I checked to see if my computer had a video card. I looked it up to see how to check what video card I had and it said
NVIDIA Vanta/Vanta LT (Microsoft Corporation)
Is this the video card and how do I know if it works?

This is a computer that was given to me as a gift so I don't know much about it. Anyway, I'm trying to play the Kudos download free trial. It allowed me to download the game but when I go to open it it says check sysytem requirements. By the way I have windows XP if that makes a difference.

my sony vaio vgc-ra716g quit due to overheating. the fan inside thepower supply box stopped working. i tried a 500w atx2.03 version externally ('cause it did not fit inside) which worked only for a few days and the pc quit again. there was an error which microsoft said is due to device installed.

I had an old Gateway Computer and I have bought a new computer to replace it, and with the old one I had an External 40gb HD. I want to Reformat the External HD and take ALL the folders and such out of it so it will just be like it was when I bought it with nothing on it. It is NTFS formatted, and I do not need any of the files anymore and it is just taking up free space and I want to clean everything out of it. Hope you understand what I am saying. I am fairly new to computers and do not want to mess the External HD up as it is fairly new, and I sure do not want to mess up my new computer I just bought. My new computer is a desktop NTFS formatted. Please help if you can. Thanks to all.

I have a 512MB 133Mhz SDRAM in Slot 1 and a 256MB 133Mhz SDRAM in Slot 2. Is this the cause. I put the 512MS Stick only yesterday and i didnt have this kinda prob till then..

Or, because of the SMPS.. I put a new 400W SMPS in the place of a 300W SMPS which i was using for the past 4 years.. Is this the cause?

Since now I had 2 IDE hard discs so i thought that my motherboard was also IDE.But just now i opened the tower and i saw two free connections with the names SATA 0 and SATA 1.This means that my motherboard is SATA?And if my motherboard is SATA,can i put another one SATA hard disc without compatibility problems?
