Simple answer is the mac is more expensive then again you only get what you pay for..

up until this year mac never used Intel CPU's they used the cyrux cpu, cause mac as it's own operating system and the cyrux chip was slow. compaired to the intell and AMD

mac sales was slow and losing ground, so they had to do something fast, and what was decided was to use the intel cpu's
now one of the best things about this idea was Mac can now run their own operating system O/S X9 and run Windows XP also killing 2 birds with one stone,
Mac is still the best systems on the home computer market, but expensive along with the expensive programs , that is why the PC is more popular

now things are hotting up in the operating software world there is operating systems out there going for free, better than Microsoft Windows XP and the mac operating x9 system . both costing money,

this new operating software is called Linux and Novell which is a big Networking software company has bought out a linux company called SUSE. Linux to Get a copy for free you can goto www.opensuse.org and download it, It is 5 cd's one cd with the operating system (windows) and 4 cd's full of software programs . sutch as Burning cd's and DVD's, music, games, video editing, everything you can think of, all for free..

You can now run windows on a Mac simply because Mac redesigned their computers to run windows to finally try to find a way to be competitive! I have to say tho, anyone who is stupid enough to buy a Mac, and then install another windows based operating system on it isnt too smart! Anyone with half a brain should see this! I think this latest Mac idea is about as stupid as their ipods! You cant take an ipod and connect it to another PC and swap music without the ipod software! You wont find ANY other player that you cant plug and play without software! LOL! Apple always has to be different!

Apple made the mistake about 20 years ago of being all by itself and not allowing people to share in its technology and that is why the pc has about 95% of the market.

It is simple economics friend...Microsoft (or PC) has been around longer that Apple (or Mac). If you drink Coke, and pop came out that tasted the same and had the same price, i am sure you would still buy Coke.

I personally think Windows has better user friendliness and on mac that right click button is non-existent a very important feature.

PCs tend to be cheaper, and the hardware platform was more open until the evolution of the Intel based Macintosh.

everything comes down to choice of preference, and no;i dont agree that its that much superior compaired to a pc,they both have there ups and downs,i dont believe one tops over the other,if that was the case, there would be no need for one or the other,if it was that much better.
