Looks to me that the ending of the process in task manager is not really your problem.

Sounds like you need to unplug your computer from everything that is plugged into it, open it up, and with a can of compressed air, blow the dust and dirt off the cpu fan and the underlying heat sink, as well as any and all other fans you find.

Overheating in the case, especially the cpu, causes the mother board to shut down the computer to avoid damage to the parts, and the fact that the computer has to be off for awhile is another good indication of that.

Simply ending a process in Task Manager would not cause any problems after rebooting. Unless you disabled the process in the Services.mmc applet, the process just start up again.

Turn the computer on and press F8 every 2 seconds until you get a boot menu. Choose to boot into safe mode. Let the computer run and see if it still shuts down. Keep in mind that Safe Mode does not load a lot of hardware drivers, so do not be surprised if vertain aspects of Windows are not functioning. All you are testing is the computer's ability to stay turned in Microsoft Wndows past 10 minutes.

If the computer does stay you have a software issue that is causing a critcal problem. You can click on Start | Run and type eventvwr.exe in the Run dialog box. This will launch the Event Viewer. Look for any Red "X's" in the System and Application logs.

If the computer shuts off you may have a hardware issue and you'll have to take the computer somewhere to get serviced.
