I leave my tower on and turn off my monitor. Last night, I went out and there were storms. Didn't check and went to bed and forgot about it being on.

This morning, went to turn on monitor and it was locked up. Red and yellow lights on panel were solid. I tried to do a hard reboot (constantly pushing power button) but it wouldn't power down. Had to flip the switch in back. Switched back on, pushed power button, got the lights on, and fans whirred. Monitor made connection, but then went off since no data. No mobo beeps or HD clicks though. Couldn't power down AGAIN, so switched off and looked inside case.

Power supply, case and cpu fans all turn. Yellow light on board comes on. Reset the CMOS jumper, but no change. The board is getting SOME type of power since all the fans are running, but it doesn't seem to be activating anything. Does that mean I've got a bad board, power supply or something else? Everything was plugged into a surge protector, so I'm not really sure what happened.

Hi I't not having any luck with my other computer questions on here but I will try another one. Under "appearance and themes" and then the "screen saver tab" then "power" and click on the tab UPS. Now there is a big yellow triangle with an exclamation mark there. Do I ignore that or is it important? Windows XP is my OS

The master hard drive is using Win XP, the pending slave has Win95Plus if that info is important.

I got a HP desktop computer, with 1 GB DDR, and 300 GB hard drive for $450.00, with a free upgrade to Microsoft Vista... think thats a good deal?

I'm trying to build a brand new computer but I'm stuck in between two processors at the moment. Its the AMD Athlon 64 3500+ Orleans 2.2GHz Socket AM2 Processor and the Intel Pentium 4 541 Prescott 3.2GHz 1MB L2 Cache LGA 775 Processor. Now, my budget is pretty much low at the moment and I really want to have a good gaming computer. Can someone tell me which processor is the best in over clocking and has a suitable temperature that wont fry up? Or if it's not even those, could someone recommend a few good processors to look into that would settle my craving for a pretty good gaming computer? Thanks!

How do we get the papaer she wrote for class off the hard drive? Can we just disconnect the hard drive from the old computer and connect it to another computer and print it? Or is it more involved than that?

If she were to take it somewhere would it be expensive?

I want to be able to record as much over the air HDTV programming on a computer to use as my DVR. Most of the TV shows I watch are on network TV and I don't want to pay the extra bucks to upgrade my satellito to HD programming. Converting to HD programming via Satellite or Cable is too costly when I all the shows I like are free in the first place.
