Desktops - November 2006

HEy I have a computer that is running very slow.. I have tried a few things and it is not working I was wanting to know if you guys could help.. I was wanting to get my computer back to the way it was when I 1st got it but I dont have a disk to do that.. so I dont know what else I can do I think If i get it back to that day then It will work better but I have pics on here and I didnt want to lose the pics but if I have to get my computer working right then I will .. please help me do this in as much detail as you can .. thanks

Ok I don't know how stupid this question is, but how do i get more RAM for my PC?
I have a Dell Dimension DE051 Intel Celeron CPU 2.53 GHz and 256 MB of RAM.
It just seems to run so slow sometimes. I have no virsuses, I uninstalled anything that I do not use, and It just can not seem to keep up with me.
If it is not RAM what could it be?
I have a 40G harddrive and I am only using about 10.5G.

I have a Gateway computer that I bought with RDRam pc1066... Can my motherboard use another type of RAM other than RDRAm pc1066? Because right now that type of RAM is the most expensive kind going. 512mb of RDRam will cost me no less than $179 which is ridiculous since my computer is 3 years old now. Helllllp!!!

Ok, this computer is 2 years old. It was purchased for about $1100 canadian. It's an HP Pavilion a255c.
The specs: pentium 4 - 2.66 GHz
512 MB RAM (max=1 GB)
120 GB hard drive
it has 2 optical drives : 1) Dvd-rom drive, 2) DVD+/- RW
nVidia GEforce4 MX 440 AGP 8x card with 64 MB DDR video memory and tv-out
internal fax/modem
3 1/2 " floppy disk drive

I am going to include in this a 17" flat screen CRT monitor (about 3 years old), and a wireless logitech keyboard and mouse. I bought these separately so they aren't included in the $100 I paid above. The $1100 was for the tower only

i have a dell latitude d620 and i must have deleted the wrong file in windows. when i turn the computer on it shows the loading screen and when it should boot windows it restarts. i bought this computer used without any recovery discs or software of any kind....can i download an xp professional boot up disc? or what?
