Ok, this computer is 2 years old. It was purchased for about $1100 canadian. It's an HP Pavilion a255c.
The specs: pentium 4 - 2.66 GHz
512 MB RAM (max=1 GB)
120 GB hard drive
it has 2 optical drives : 1) Dvd-rom drive, 2) DVD+/- RW
nVidia GEforce4 MX 440 AGP 8x card with 64 MB DDR video memory and tv-out
internal fax/modem
3 1/2 " floppy disk drive

I am going to include in this a 17" flat screen CRT monitor (about 3 years old), and a wireless logitech keyboard and mouse. I bought these separately so they aren't included in the $100 I paid above. The $1100 was for the tower only

Thanks!

How much should I sell this for

Computers are like cars they really don't hold there value. Like one of the other posts said go to Ebay and see what the computers on there are going for.

Honestly, don't bother.
Dell will sell you a more powerful system, AND throw in a 17" LCD and free shipping, for less than you'd want to sell it for.
My suggestion, donate it and take the tax write off. Or i'm sure that you know someone that could use a computer and can't get a brand new one. Geeks (myself included) would happily barter for a system like that, makes a good test box for Linux distros. Get a geek to setup your new PC for you and transfer all your data and programs saving you a few days of headache in exchange for it.

I have had Very good Support and after-sales from PC World but only last weekend I had shocking after-sales at Comet. Faulty CD drive, I had put it back to past restore point but they said I had to Wipe the computer to factory settings to check it was not a software problem and was also told the data I would lose was not their problem as I could not back it up onto CD!

I would put it around 700-800 that way you allow for some market value decrease and some use degrading it.

A super deal @ $200. bucks, & still a great deal @ $500 bucks & a fair price @ $750.
