Amd 64 X2 4200+ 939 Abit AN8 SLi 939 nForce 4 mobo 250 GB SATA SeaGate Geforce 7950GX2 OCZ PowerStream 600W PSU Ok guys, I'm really getting pissed at how many problems this computer has. Please read this and help! Istarted out with a Geforce 7800GTX and it worked fine with all games, the only problem was, I used to get corrupted textures in some games sometimes (artifacting) Then I returned it for a x1900xt and that worked fine also, but it overheated and again, artifacting... SO, I get a 7900GTX instead, this is where I get problems, I ran some games that I could with the x1900xt, and they would either give me an "encountered error needs to close" error at startup of game or just a crash with no error or anything. I read that the 7900gtxs had probs so I rma'd it to a 7950GX2 which I installed yesterday and what happens? You guessed it, games crashing without errors and such again, even oblivion wont work anymore. I have no idea what to do, PLEASE help!

My PC has been crashing and people tell me to just do a clean reboot of the OS but when I try I keep getting the message that the version on my PC is newer than the one on the CD. I know that I've downloaded updates, hence the version on the cd is old, but I don't mind going back and updating it later. I just want to clean my system out and update it after i have installed XP. I have already saved the files I want to keep, so I dont mind the remaining clutter from being swiped clean.

I am planning on building my first computer but I am haveing a hard time deciding on the right motherboard and video card. I am planning on using the Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 CPU and 2GB of RAM (for now. I would like to have the option to expand to 8 in the future). I would like a SLI compatable motherboard as well. I will be using the computer for homework, internet, and all of that kind of stuff, but it will be used mostly for gaming. I am willing to spend a decent amount of money on the motherboard but would like to keep the video card within reason (say around $150-$200 or so). Also I will probably not have the money to by both video cards at the same time so I would like to find one that works well both alone and in SLI. Oh, and one more question, correct me if I am wrong but SLI only works with nVidia chipsets? If that is true, how do nVidia chipsets compate to the Intel standard? Thanks for any help you can give me.

I currently use HP machines, becuase I like thier policy of "express exchange", that if a user replaceable part is broken, they will exchange it for you by sending you the replacement part then you send them back your part (they take a CC number as collateral), this speeds up the process of you getting your machine up and working.
Is there any Hi-end vendors that have the same policy?

My D and E drive that are my CD player and my CD writer are mysteriously gone from my computer! I have my supsicion that someone who does not care for me may have taken them off. Is it possible for that they just removed themselves when my computer says that htye were either moverd or removed. I am not able to laod anything that is associated with a CD like my new scanner! Can any one give me suggestions of what I need to do? Do I need to get another D and E drive and the hardware that goes with it or do you think I can get the problem repaired. I am not a computer expert, but conventioanal wisdom tells me that I will need to get the soft wear and reload the program! Once I am in my new surroundings, I plan to purchase a new system, but I need suggestions fo rnow. Thanks, Arene

I have an old windows 98 that i just like to mess around with. i have all of the parts for it but when i go to turn it on it wont start up. i tried to use the start up floppy but that didnt work. i found a website that you can make a disc to start it up but i dont know if it is a trustable site. can you tell me if i should download the thing from the website or if you have any better ideas tell me. thanks.

I got a new computer earlier in the year that is equipped with a tv tuner. I tried hooking it up to the satellite the way the directions said but no such luck. Does my tv need to be the primary tv connected to the satellite box? My tv is a secondary tv. Can I still hook up my computer so that I can watch tv on it? If so, what do I need to do?

last night my pc worked fine, this morning i turn it on and it gets stuck on winfast screen for 10 minutes before booting up. seems to be fine after this, until i restart, then it does same thing again. please some1 help.
